Baking for the Homeless Afternoon, December 10th, 2016

On Saturday December 10th, join the St. Bonaventure Youth Ministry for our afternoon of baking for the homeless. The event will start at 1:00pm and run until 5:00pm. We will be baking a variety of goodies and donating them to a homeless shelter or mission on behalf of the St. Bonaventure's Parish. We will also be sampling our baked goods afterwards :), just to make sure the people they are going to will like them! There will also be snacks and refreshments for our bakers in attendance. This event is for Youth of all ages from Grade 6 and up. If you are interested in attending this event please RSVP to our Youth Animator, Peter, at pdosman@st-bonaventure.ca. Please also mention in your email if you have any dietary restrictions or needs that need to be made known ahead of time.

Introduction:   Hi eveyone! Some of you in the Parish may know me already, and some of you may not have met me. My name is Peter Dosman and I am the Youth Animator at St. Bonaventure Parish, I have been in this role since April 2016. I grew up as member of the Parish, having received all of my sacraments here, as well as having attended elementary school at St. Bonaventure’s too. I left in Grade 6 to attend St. Michael’s College School and graduated from there in 2009. I was a member of various sports teams and clubs while in high school and regularly attended the lunch mass at least once a week. Upcoming Youth Event: Christmas Movie Night Christmas Movie Night, Friday November 25 th , 2016 Join Peter Dosman (Youth Animator) for our final Movie and Pizza Party of the 2016 season. This Movie Night will be Christmas themed; we will be watching an adaptation of the story A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey from 2009. The event will start at 6:00pm and run until 9:00pm . Parents are more than welcome to attend with their children. This event will be for Youth from Grade 6 and up. We will be ordering pizza, enjoying some popcorn, veggies and dip, and bubblegum and other snacks. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to pdosman@st-bonaventure.ca so we will have an idea of how many youth (and parents) we can expect. Friday, March 31st, 2017 Hello everyone! My apologies for no confirmation blog posting last week regarding the drop-in. We are on for the drop-in this week, and we will begin at 3:00pm and run until 5:00pm. If there are any parents who are willing to assist and volunteer their time to be with me this week that would be fantastic. As we, prepare for Easter and are approaching the end of Lent, I would like to begin this week's drop-in program by taking the group through the Stations of the Cross in the Church. We will meet as we usually do in the Parish Hall and go as a group together over to the Church.
